Now it’s the green beans we’re all talking about.
They’re the staple in Australia.
But do you know what else is on the menu?
They’re not green.
Instead, they’re the new favorite food in the US.
And that means they’re becoming a big hit.
I went to a farmers market this past week in Melbourne, and a guy who sells greens, he was selling greens, so it’s not just the Australian market, but the US market as well.
That’s not a surprise, is it?
It’s the global demand for greens that’s driving up prices.
I asked him what the US farmers market was like, and he said, ‘The farmers market here in the States is actually more of a family event, and we do get a lot of customers, but in the United States it’s all about the greens.
People are more interested in the green stuff.’
The green beans are coming to Australia, too.
They’ve been here for decades.
We’re not the only ones.
It’s not hard to see why.
They taste really good.
They have a nutty flavour, and they’re really good at soaking up the juices from meat.
But the most important thing about them is that they’re super healthy.
‘It’s a natural food that’s got this high glycemic index, so we can actually be able to control the insulin level, because the insulin levels in the body are high.
‘You can do it with whole foods, you can do with refined grains.
It does have its own benefits.
You can get all the fiber you want, all the vitamins, all those things that you don’t get in the whole foods.’
So it’s definitely not a bad thing.
But does it matter what you eat?
Well, it matters a lot if you’re in Australia, and that’s because Australia is a major producer of green beans.
It also makes sense, because Australia’s been growing for centuries.
Australia produces more than two-thirds of the world’s total production of green bean, and it’s growing at a rapid rate.
But how is that growing?
‘There’s been a lot more of that green bean growing around Australia, but Australia has actually been exporting some of the green bean.
The United States has exported some of their green bean to Australia.
They actually grow some of it, and when you buy the greenbeans from them, you get some of what is actually grown in Australia in the states.
So there are a lot fewer of the American green beans in Australia than in the rest of the United Kingdom.
In the United states, there are probably more green beans than there are American green potatoes, but they’re not in the same league.
The main reason for that is that the US is a very heavy exporter of wheat, and the wheat and corn farmers in the Midwest and the South actually produce the most green beans from the United Southwestern States, which is the Midwest, and then they sell them as green beans to Australia.’
That’s the story I heard the farmer tell me.
Australia is exporting more than the United Sates, and most of the rest is also exporters.
So how is it all happening?
‘In Australia, there’s a lot, like 50 per cent, of the crops that are being grown for food and in Australia are actually going to be exported.
They produce more than half of the food that we eat in the world, and many of those exports go to China, Japan, and South Korea.
So, as far as the US goes, we’ve also exported more than we’ve imported.
So when we export green beans and wheat, it’s also important that we’re also exporting to Australia because of the way they’re grown.
Australia has been exporting wheat and wheat products since the 17th century.
Wheat has been the staple food for most of that time.
But, since the 1960s, the United Nations has been developing a whole new way to grow wheat that has improved the way the world grows wheat.
It started with farmers growing their own grains and using what they knew to grow other crops, such as potatoes, soybeans, and corn.
‘So you don´t grow wheat in the ground and it´s not going to produce milk, or soybean, or corn,’ said the farmer.
‘The way you grow wheat, is you grow it in the sun.
And it´d be very, very difficult to grow a wheat crop in the shade, and if you do, it´ll be very hard to get it out of the ground.
So what we have is the most efficient way to do it.
So the wheat farmers can actually grow their own wheat and they grow other wheat products.
